As a church, we believe the following.
The best description of our basic beliefs or faith can be summarized by what is called the Apostle’s Creed.
About God: God is creator, ruler, and redeemer. He has existed eternally in three personalities, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
About Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life and offered himself as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. Jesus rose physically and was seen, touched, and held after his resurrection. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as king.
About the Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to bring people to an awareness of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation when Christ is received as Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit provides every Christian with power to live the Christian life. He provides moment by moment guidance for believers, spiritual leadings, revelations of deeper truths, an abiding sense of God’s love and forgiveness, connects us together as Christians, and gives every Christian spiritual gifts with which we serve others to build them up.
About the Bible: The Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is Gods word to us, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct. It is the inspired source of life from God. It is truth without error, and will never pass away.
About Salvation: Salvation is God’s free gift to all who believe, but we must accept it. Salvation is not earned by good works or self-improvements and being better than somebody else. Only by trusting Jesus for yourself can anyone be forgiven and saved from the effects of sin, which is death. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith. God warmly welcomes anyone who calls upon him in that precious moment of believing faith and reunion with your creator.
About Human Beings: All people, male and female, are created in the image of God. We are spiritual beings made to be in a loving relationship with our creator. We are all wonderfully created, each of us unique vessels. Male and female were made for each other, which is marriage, blessed by God to multiply more spiritual beings created in the image of God. Unfortunately, with all of our huge potential to do good, all of us are marred by a disobedience toward God, called “sin.” Sin is what separates us from God, from others, from our highest self, and we are lost until found. Sin causes many problems in our lives and in our world.
About Pets: The Bible says God loves the world and creates all the amazing varieties of plants and animals we so enjoy today; human beings being God’s supreme masterpieces. There is a strong indication in Scripture that in the new heavens and new earth to come, that animals as pets will be with us again, that God will give us everything we need to enjoy the fullness of life forever.
About Eternity: We have every reason to believe in another realm or place of existence, because Jesus says there is and Jesus described that place as “my Father’s House” This earth is real and existed apart from us before we were conceived and born to experience life here. If God did it once, brought us to this real created earth to live, we believe God can do it again, to bring us into another world that our eyes have yet to see, our ears yet to hear. Jesus described heaven the best he could to our earth-bound minds and said to trust Him as the only way to get there. Describing the future of heaven to us today is difficult, as difficult as someone trying to describe this earth to us before we got here.
